Postcards

In the Victorian Era, letter writing was the primary means of communicating with family and friends, especially if you did not live close to them. Postcards had their start in the 1870s as an easier way to send a quick note to someone. They became much more popular in the 1890s. The front side of postcards feature a picture and the back side for messages and the address. Below, you will find vintage postcards that feature historic photos of Los Angeles.
